Interested in More Competitive AYSO Soccer ?

The EXTRA program was developed for U9 through U14 players with advanced soccer skills. This AYSO program recognizes the need to challenge the more competitive player. Players participating in this program will compete against other EXTRA teams from different regions and local areas. While most EXTRA games will be played within Area 11-L (South Orange County), some games will be played outside Area 11-L (requiring some additional travel time). There will be both Saturday and Sunday games with the season lasting from September to December. Many teams will continue in the Spring season as an EXTRA team, and may participate in tournaments if they wish.

Players must try-out and be selected to play in the EXTRA program. Player evaluation is made by a committee which looks at the player’s soccer skills, attitude and competitiveness.AYSO EXTRA players may not play soccer for any other team or organization during the Fall season (September through December).

The EXTRA program provides for a team for each age level, unlike the standard recreational soccer where two ages are combined in a division. For example, the recreational program combines the ten year old and eleven year old players in the Under 12 (U12) division. The EXTRA program provides a team for U11 and a separate team for U12.

The program provides for teams at the U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14 levels. All age brackets are not guaranteed. We need appropriately certified coaches and a sufficient number of qualified players at try-outs in order to form teams.
